CONSIDERED REQUEST TO ALL SHORT TERM INSURERS/BROKERS/INTERMEDIARIES
The Department of Trade and Industry has been engaged by the members of the motor body repair sector through the Motor Body Repairers Forum (MBR). They have brought to the dti's attention many concerns, constraints and challenges relating to procurement principles and practices, limited transformation and exclusionary practices, which they contend, are applied by the short-term insurance sector impairing negatively the development and growth of their businesses.
The dti is committed to facilitate an all inclusive forum consisting Of all industry role players frown the motor body repair sector and short-term insurance sector, including brokers and intermediaries in addressing these concerns and facilitating an amicable solutions that will benefit all going forward.
With this in mind, we request that no processes or contracts be finalized by any Company of the insurance sector prior to the meeting being held between all stakeholders under the auspices of the dti We will be pleased if this request could receive your favourable consideration as we believe that it is in the best interest of the process and all the role players that any future potential outcomes that may be reached via the Forum are not affected.
We endeavor to speed up the first sitting of the forum on the first week of August 2010 to ensure that these matters are resolved speedily as not to affect your business operations unnecessarily.
